The Best Action Cameras In Your Market

Action cameras have become a common accessory for extreme sports enthusiasts across the world. They allow thrill seekers to capture and relive their hair-raising experiences time and time again. Here is an overview of some of the best cameras on the market at the moment.

GoPro HD HERO2

GoPro is arguably the king of the action camera world, consistently delivering market-leading products, accessories and mounts that continue to ‘wow’ its legions of loyal users.

The latest addition to the GoPro camera range is the GoPro HD2, the most advanced GoPro camera yet that offers functionality and performance in abundance. The GoPro HD2 looks and weighs the same as its predecessor, the GoPro HD Hero and also maintains a number of key features. Including, full 1080p video resolution and a 170 degree wide angle lens for ultimate video quality.

In addition, the GoPro HD2 has been fitted with a new processor that delivers twice the processing power as its predecessor. This new technology makes the camera faster, but also allows the user to capture 11 megapixel photos at a rate of 10 photos per second.

The GoPro HD2 has a new a glass lens that's twice as sharp as the old model. Low light performance has been improved considerably and a revamped digital user menu makes navigating the camera a breeze.

The GoPro HD Hero2 is available in three different sport-specific packages - the Outdoor Edition, the Motorsports Edition and the Surf Edition, all of which include the camera and relevant mounting accessories. The GoPro camera and the range of accessories and mounts available make it an extremely versatile piece of kit.

Drift HD

The Drift HD is a very popular camera that is as sleek as it is powerful. At just 138g the Drift HD is super light meaning it can sit anywhere on a users’ body or kit, virtually unnoticed.

The Drift HD packs a 170 degree wide angle lens, records at full 1080p HD, and also has the option to film at up to 60fps at 720p. For those wanting to capture still shots on the go, the Drift HD will also capture photos at 9 megapixels.

The Drift HD also boasts suburb usability, with perhaps one if its best features being the built in colour screen, which allows the user to line shots up and play them back with ease. It also has big, easy-to-use buttons that can be used even when wearing gloves. In addition, the camera comes with a remote control that can be used to operate key functions without having to dismount it.

Other features include a built-in mic plus external mic input, 4x digital zoom and 2.5 hours of battery life. There are a great variety of mounts and accessories available for the Drift, which makes it adaptable for almost any sport, even underwater!

BulletHD PRO

The Bullet HD is one of the smallest action cameras on the market and due to its shape (the clue is in the name) it’s ideal for those who require a more subtle camera. The Bullet HD camera can be attached to virtually any part of the users’ body or kit, but the stream line shape makes it ideal for mounting to goggles.

It may be small, but the Bullet HD has plenty of features to get excited about, including 1080p full HD recording or 720p at 60fps, 12 megapixel still image capture with three second burst mode, a 170 degrees optical ‘Fisheye’ lens as well as being waterproof to 10 metres. Additionally, the Bullet HD boasts video stabilisation and a noise reduction system.

Nokia Introducing PureView 808 with 41 Megapixels !!!

At Mobile World Congress Nokia laid down the gauntlet to itself with the launch of the PureView 808 boasting a whopping 41 megapixel digital camera.

Again using Carl Zeiss optics it seems hard to think there will be any camera phone that will be able to match it.

The Nokia PureView can capture stills with a 7728 x 5354 resolution in 16:9 format or 7152 x 5368 in 4:3.

For the rest of the device it comes in white. It isn’t the thinnest of smartphones but there’s a lot going on under the bonnet, and 41 megapixels has to come at a price somewhere.

On the back there’s a large lens for the camera and a Xenon flash above it.

On the front is the 4 inch touchscreen that measures 640 x 360. It’s powered by a 1.3 GHz processor and 16GB of memory, there’s a memory card slot to expand on that. There is also 512 MB of RAM.

Back to the camera, it has an f/2.4 aperture. The video offers a digital zoom without any loss of resolution.

1080p video is captured at 4x zoom and 720p at 6x zoom. Seven pixels can be turned into one.

This makes it easier to retain quality even when you zoom in and crop. The maximum you can get out of the PureView is 38 megapixels.

Looking at the numbers, obviously while the PureView is a good device, the screen resolution is too low to view the amount of detail you’ll be able to snap with the camera.

It may also struggle, potentially, to cope with huge images the camera will create: Much better to stash on a PC or other device.

Also in running a single core processor, with its main competitors running with a dual core or even quad core, is there going to be anything to attract anyone to the device other than the camera?

Is it more camera with phone attached rather than the other way around? The camera has already come into criticism from Olympus who want to test Nokia’s boats in a range of lighting conditions.

What will frustrate some users more is the fact that the PureView also runs Symbian, Nokia’s operating system.

Nokia has already said it’s phasing out the OS in favour of Windows Phone, seen on its Lumia range.

Symbian is not popular in the US meaning the device is likely to only get a UK and Europe launch.

Nokia says it has spent five years developing PureView technology.

How To Safeguard Your Computer Against Online Threats??

Your computer is like the human body. It is susceptible to viruses, malicious codes and other threats from the cyber world that can infect and destroy its data. Cyber crime is on the rise and just like new diseases in the real world, cyber criminals and hackers engineer new viruses and programs every now and then to intrude into people's computers in order to hack and steal sensitive stored data. There is no cause for concern however as there are certain precautions you can take to protect your computer from the menace of online threats and intrusions.

Antivirus - With the present technological advancement, hackers have become more malicious. They release new viruses and worms online that get installed on the computers of unsuspecting users. This leads to an epic loss of data and in worst cases results in a crash as these viruses wipe out all crucial system files from the computer. However, installing an effective antivirus program can protect your computer from these online threats. Once installed the antivirus program will automatically secure your computer by individually scanning all files and folders. If any viruses or malicious threats are detected, the antivirus program would notify you and quarantine the infected file in a safe location on your computer.

Anti spyware - Spyware is one of the stealthiest online threats that quite often goes undetected by the user. Spyware are created by unscrupulous online marketers who use the program as a behavioral tracker to keep tabs on the type of websites you visit so that they can decide which product you would most likely purchase. Spyware is harmful for your computer as it changes your settings and drastically slows it down. They usually install themselves in the guise of tool-bars or enter your computer directly from certain websites. Installing Anti spyware software would shield your computer from this menace. The Anti spyware software gets activated the moment you turn on your computer and constantly monitors and scans your files and folders for any spyware that might be present.

Firewall - Firewall is a basic default security setting found on every Windows supported computer. When activated, it monitors the stream of data that is relayed from the Internet to your computer and vice versa. The firewall scans all applications that are connected to the Internet and prompts you with a message if it notices a suspicious unidentified program. It is a fairly effective security measure that is best supplemented by a potent antivirus program for maximum security.

In addition to the methods mentioned above, you can follow these simple precautions:
-Always scan for viruses before downloading an email attachment
-Never open an unknown email attachment as it could most likely be a virus
-Always ensure to run a virus scan before opening or installing a downloaded file or program from the Internet.
-Avoid clicking on indiscriminate pop ups that appear on your browser window.

Keeping these basic preventive measures in mind, you can ensure complete protection for your computer from the peril of online threats
